Hi, my name is Abby Rose Mandel. I was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and earned a BFA in Art Education from Michigan State University. As a passionate creator, I pursued a career in Art Education with a focus in Ceramics and Jewelry.
In 2006, I began my teaching career in Austin TX, and gradually built up my home studio practice. I am now able to produce all of my ceramic work in my home studio, where I focus on slip-casting and hand-built forms that are playful and colorful.
As an artist, I work to push boundaries and challenge myself to always grow and refine my work. My journey in ongoing and I am always trying to learn new techniques to incorporate into my work and to maintain my creative release. I strongly believe in the importance of perseverance, creativity, and staying true to one’s unique vision, while always aiming to push oneself out of their comfort zone and not shy away from challenges.
