In making my ceramics I’m always thinking about the ways I can use the exterior surface as a canvas for illustrations. I have been doing a variation of the vines and petals over the years through drawing and collage, but it has always been my desire to combine those techniques with the clay and I’m pleased with the evolution of the process. There are still many experiments I wish to run and different forms to try to create, and I’m excited to see the next evolution of this body of work.
